Promoting Soil Health Management and Balanced Fertilizer Use in the MGMG adopted villages on 29th April 2026
Date: April 29, 2026
An awareness programme on Soil Health Management and Balanced Fertilizer Use was organized by ICAR-CIRCOT on 29th April 2026 at its MGMG-adopted village Khumari, Kalmeshwar (Nagpur). The programme focused on improving soil health through soil test–based fertilizer use and integrated nutrient management. Farmers were also sensitized on the use of organic inputs such as compost, vermicompost, and biofertilizers, including vermicompost derived from cotton ginning waste, highlighting its role in improving soil structure, microbial activity, and nutrient availability. A demonstration on the practical use of vermicompost was conducted with the participation of Kolba Organic (a startup supported by ICAR-CIRCOT). A total of 27 farmers participated in the programme.
