  • CRP.11 : Development and Evaluation of Pre-grooved chrome leather roller and automatic grooving for double roller gin

    Objectives : 
    Development and evaluation of pre-grooved chrome leather roller for DR Gin.
    • Development of an automatic deep-cut grooving machine for pre-grooving of chrome leather rollers.

  • CRP.12 : Optimization of spinning process parameters for Cotton/Hemp blends and develop value added products

    PI of the Project and Designation: Dr. T. Senthilkumar, Sr. Scientist

    Objectives:
    • Surface modification of hemp fibre to improve spinning properties
    • To develop cotton/hemp blended yarns by ring spinning and rotor spinning technology.
    • To optimize the chemical processes for bleaching and dyeing of cotton/hemp blended.

  • CRP.13 : Development of Biorefinery Process for Conversion of Cotton stalks into bio-ethanol 

    PI of the Project and Designation: Dr. K. Pandiyan, Sr. Scientist

    Objectives : 
    To develop a suitable pre-treatment method for effective removal of lignin from cotton stalks.
    To optimize the process parameters for enzymatic hydrolysis for pre-treated cotton stalks.
    To produce bio-ethanol from fermentable sugars and its characterization.

  • CRP-TNAU-02 : Bioprocessing of natural fibres and agro residues for production of oligo-saccharides and lignin-derived aromatics

    PI of the Project and Designation:

    Dr. A. S. M. Raja, Principal Scientist, CCPI

    Objectives : 
    To characterize the biomass (cotton stalk, GMW, SMW and banana fibre) and optimize the EnZolv process for lignin removal.
    To optimize and produce thermophilic enzymes.
    To accelerate saccharification of hydrolysate from obj. 1 and recover monomers.
    To produce lignin-derived aromatics, xylo-oligosaccharides, and cello-oligosaccharides from biomass.
    To produce starch/starch derived-products from regenerated amorphous cellulose.
