Participation of ICAR-CIRCOT, Mumbai in 95th ICAR Foundation Day and Technology Day and exhibition organized during 16-18 July 2023 at New Delhi.

On the occasion of 95th ICAR Foundation Dayon 16 July 2023, a grand program was organized during 16 to 18 July 2023 at Dr. C. Subramaniam Auditorium of NASC Complex in New Delhi. This occasion was celebrated as Foundation and Technology Day for the first time. Dr. S.K. Shukla, Director along with Dr. Ashokkumar Bharimalla, Principal Scientist; Dr. P. Jagajanantha, Senior Scientist; Mr. Ravi Chhangani,CTO; Mrs. Prachi Mhatre, ACTO and Hemant Ladgaonkar, Business Manager, R-ABI participated in the program.

On July 16, 2023, the program was inaugurated by Hon’ble Narendra Singh Tomar, Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister (in online mode) in the presence of Hon’ble Parshottam Rupala, Union Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairy Minister and Hon’ble Kailash Chaudhary, State Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister. ICAR-CIRCOT’s Cotton based heat generating textiles technology was one amongst the 5 technologies selected under Agricultural Engineering SMD for the year 2023. The smart textile products such as automobile seat covers, thermal jackets, heating gloves, warm mouse pads and heating pads etc. made using the same technology were released by Hon’ble Ministers and Dr. Himanshu Pathak, Secretary (DARE) and Director General (ICAR) in this august gathering.

The exhibition was kept open for general public till 18July 2023. ICAR-CIRCOT also had a stall of products made using environment-friendly technologies developed under Institute projects and startup programs. Hon’ble Narendra Singh Tomar, Hon’ble Dr. Himanshu Pathak, Secretary (DARE) and Director General (ICAR) along with senior officials from Agriculture Ministry, Directors of ICAR Institutes, Vice Chancellors of State Agricultural Universities, Scientists, farmers, agri-entrepreneurs and school students visited the stall and took interest in knowing about the technologies and innovations developed at the Institute. The products of the institute kept for purchase on special discount were bought by many visitors.
