The ICAR-Central Institute for Research on Cotton Technology (ICAR-CIRCOT), Mumbai, successfully conducted a two-day farmer awareness program under the ‘Khet Bachao Abhiyan’ initiative. Held on June 29–30, 2026, across several villages in Shahapur Taluka, Thane district, the programme aimed to advance sustainable agricultural practices and improve long-term soil health.

Through interactive technical sessions and field discussions, experts emphasized the importance of soil-test-based nutrient management and balanced fertilization. Farmers were encouraged to adopt eco-friendly inputs, including microbial bio-fertilizers, Jeevamrut, Beejamrut, and green manuring. Scientists further highlighted how beneficial microorganisms enhance nutrient cycling and organic matter decomposition, which are vital for sustainable productivity.
