ICAR-CIRCOT Organizes Hands on Training Programme on Basic Molecular Biology and Genome Editing Techniques

Training Basic Molecular Biology and Genome Editing Techniques

ICAR-Central Institute for Research on Cotton Technology (ICAR-CIRCOT), Mumbai, organized a four-day Training Programme on Basic Molecular Biology and Genome Editing Techniques during September 16–19, 2025. A total of 11 participants (4 male and 7 female) representing various educational and research institutes across the country attended the programme.

The training provided both theoretical insights and practical exposure to fundamental molecular biology techniques such as PCR, cDNA synthesis, transformation, real-time PCR, and CRISPR-Cas9 genome editing. Participants were familiarized with the workflow of genome editing experiments through comprehensive lectures and hands-on sessions designed to strengthen their technical competence and research capabilities.
