ICAR-CIRCOT Organises Input Dealers Interactive Meet and Live Telecast of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi on June 20, 2026 at Mohpa, Kalmeshwar, Nagpur
Ginning Training Centre of ICAR-CIRCOT, Nagpur organised an Input Dealers Interactive meet under the Khet Bacho Abhiyan (June 01-30, 2026) on June 20, 2026 at Mohpa, Kalmeshwar, Nagpur. In this programme, Dr. K. Pandiyan, Senior Scientist & Officer In-Charge, GTC, Nagpur, Sh. Govind Wairale, Project Coordinator, CITI-CDRA, Mumbai, Sh. Shubham Dhone, Zydex Industries Private Limited, Nagpur, Sh. Nitin Gondule, Ankur Seeds were graced the occasion.
At the outset, Dr. Pandiyan welcomed the farmers and briefed about the Khet Bacho Abhiyan programme organised for the farmers and emphasized about the importance of organic farming and organic inputs in sustaining the soil health for addressing the current fertilizer crisis and for the betterment of future. Sh. Wairale highlighted the importance of adoption of high-density planting system (HDPS) in cotton in order to increase the productivity of cotton as well as to improve the farming community through addition fetching for the higher crop yield. Sh. Nitin Gondule briefed about the necessity to identify suitable seeds for the soil to increase the productivity and tolerance or resistance to pest and disease. Also, he mentioned about the role of selection of appropriate seeds and cultivation practices which play a major role in harvesting the benefit of cotton crop. Ankur has developed hybrids particularly “Kirti” is well suited for HDPS cultivation in cotton.


Sh. Shubham Dhone highlighted the current status of soil health and necessity for restoration of soil nutrient health to have a sustainable cultivation by conserving the natural ecosystem and resources. He also stressed upon the adverse effects of injudicious application of chemical fertilizers in soil and ecosystem.
After the programme, a live telecast for the programme release of 23rd instalment of “PM Kisan Samman Nidhi” was arranged wherein Hon’ble Union Minister of Culture and Tourism, Sh. Gajendra Singh Shekhawat addressed the farmers about government’s initiatives for welfare of the farmers. Hon’ble Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi addressed the farmers gathered in the villages about the various schemes and initiatives by the government for the farmers.
During the programme, biological inputs such as Bio NPK, Mycorrhiza and zinc solubilizing bacteria were distributed to the farmers along with briefing of their application in soil for yielding the benefit of microbes in nutrient enrichment in soil. A total of 88 farmers were attended the programme which include 68 male and 20 female.
