Digital Ginning Percentage Indicator (DGPI) for Portable Gins

Description and Salient Features :

Seed cotton is conventionally traded irrespective of its ginning percentage (GP) due to lack of appropriate machine to record GP accurately on real time basis at market yards and ginneries. It deprives farmers from getting additional benefit for sowing improved GP cotton cultivars. Hence, a digital ginning percentage indicator (DGPI) for portable cotton gin was developed on electromechanical principle for real time determination of GP to facilitate objective cotton grading based on GP and to promote lint based trading. 

DGPI comprises of weight recording system, GOC-PLC setup, software program, electronic display unit and accessories for integration with the portable cotton gin.
