Third Lecture of the “ICAR-CIRCOT Centenary Lecture Series” organized by ABIC and ITMU on 14th March, 2024

ICAR-Central Institute for Research on Cotton Technology, Mumbai in commemoration of its centenary year celebration is organizing a series of lectures from experts in the domain of Cotton Value Cain, technical textiles, by-produce, biomass value chain, and incubation.

The third lecture in this series was organized on 14th March 2024 in the Conference Hall of ICAR-CIRCOT. It was delivered by Dr. Jagdeesh Sunkad, Independent Consultant and Director, Kanakadhara Agricultural Innovations Private Limited, Bengaluru on “Pragmatic Approaches to Become a Successful Startup”.

The program started with an ICAR song. At the outset, Dr. S. K. Shukla, Director, ICAR-CIRCOT, Mumbai welcomed the speaker and highlighted the significance of organizing the lecture. In his welcome address, he briefed about the Institute’s work and Scientists’ role in technology commercialization. Dr. Jagdeesh Sunkad in his lecture, highlighted the different startups and their success journey. He also discussed 3 elements of building a winning startup culture i.e. Egoless, Cohesive, and Listening to the market/customer. He also explained various approaches to keep in mind while starting any business and strategies to bounce back from failures. The lecture provided fruitful insights on startup growth and various funding possibilities for the start-ups that participated online.

The lecture was attended by scientists, technical staff, administrative officers, SRFs, and YPs of the Institute. Also, start-ups, incubators, and other stakeholders associated with the Institute participated in hybrid mode.
