ICAR-CIRCOT participation in the 96th Foundation and Technology Day of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research at New Delhi

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) celebrated its 96th Foundation and Technology Day Program at the National Agricultural Science Complex, New Delhi, during July 15-16, 2024. 

The program was inaugurated by Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Hon’ble Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (A&FW) and Rural Development (MoRD), and the President of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). 

Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh, Hon’ble Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying (AH&D) and Ministry of Panchayati Raj (MOPR), Hon’ble Ministers’ of State, Shri Bhagirath Chaudhary (A&FW), Shri Ram Nath Thakur (A&FW), Prof. S.P. Singh Baghel (AH&D and MOPR), Shri George Kurien (AH&D and Ministry of Minority Affairs (MoMA), also, graced the occasion.  

On the occasion, Eight Technologies developed at ICAR-CIRCOT, Mumbai, were acknowledged and honoured with certificates. One technology among the eight, viz: “One-time pre-grooved chrome leather rollers used for cotton ginning in Indian ginneries”, was ranked among the Top four technologies, developed under the Agricultural Engineering Division of ICAR and the certificate was handed over by Hon’ble Union Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan. 

Among the ‘Technologies released’ on the occasion, an innovative and promising technology,viz: “Industrial multilayer woven cut-resistance gloves,” developed at ICAR-CIRCOT was unveiled at the hands of the dignitaries present.  

ICAR-CIRCOT also displayed its several research technologies and novel products developed by CIRCOT R-ABI startups in the exhibition organized for the ‘Technology Day’, during the event. Sh. Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Hon’ble Union Minister and other distinguished guests as well as Dr. Himanshu Pathak, DG, ICAR, visited the exhibition stall and appreciated the technologies and products developed by the institute. The institute has made these achievements under the able guidance of Dr. S. N. Jha, Deputy Director General (Agricultural Engineering), and Dr. K. Narsaiah, Assistant Director General (Process Engineering), ICAR, New Delhi.
