Dr. S. K. Shukla, Director, ICAR- Central Institute for Research on Cotton Technology, Mumbai signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with M/s. Forecast Agrotech Innovations Pvt. Ltd., Pune on 2nd Nov 2023 for development of Nanoformulation of rock phosphate for making phosphate rich organic manure (PROM) and to carry out the required field trials.

M/s. Forecast Agrotech Innovations provide a range of innovative solutions and products tailored to address critical challenges in the agriculture and livestock industry. Their diverse capabilities cater to both businesses and individual farmers, ensuring sustainable and eco-friendly practices. They are dedicated to revolutionising the agriculture and livestock industry with sustainable, efficient, and environment friendly solutions. They recover valuable enriched product such as Bio slurry and Phosphate Rich Organic Manure and creates sustainable waste management for agriculture.

Rock Phosphate is the key raw material for DAP and NPK fertilisers and India is 90% dependent on imports. Volatility in international prices affects domestic prices of fertilisers and hinders the progress and development of agriculture sector in the country. ICAR-CIRCOT, having two decades of experience in the field of nanotechnology, stepped into collaboration to enhance the efficacy of rock phosphate by size reduction and use of microbial inoculum.

The MoU signing ceremony was graced by the innovators of the technology, Dr. A.K. Bharimalla, Dr. N. Vigneshwaran, Dr. M.K. Mahawar, Dr. Jyoti Dhakane-Lad, Dr. Sharmila Patil and Dr. Sujata Saxena.

The main objective of this MoU is to use the nanotechnological intervention for enhancing the efficacy of rock phosphate.
