ICAR-CIRCOT signed MoU with RPG Foundation

ICAR-Central Institute for Research on Cotton Technology, Mumbai signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with RPG Foundation, Mumbai (MH) today dated June 11, 2024. The MoU has been signed by Dr. S. K Shukla, Director, ICAR-CIRCOT, and Mrs. Mansi Rane, Lead (Finance), RPG Foundation on behalf of respective organizations for the “Yarn preparation and woven fabric development”.

RPG Foundation is a Public Charitable Trust registered under the Bombay Public Trusts working in social welfare and reform, across a wide range of areas: education, employability, health including eye health, community development etc. RPGF adopts and directly undertakes CSR Activities to oversee and create cross-company synergies to encourage the exchange of Corporate Social Responsibility ideas, adoption of best practices, and learning. RPGF is duly authorized inter alia to undertake Corporate Social Responsibilities Activities of various RPG Group companies or otherwise to get executed all or part of its said Corporate Social Responsibilities in the said initiatives to any other trust, institution, or organization to complete the same successfully.

This MoU's major objective is to study organic cotton's spinnability in different count ranges from 8s Ne to 40s Ne through ring & compact spinning systems and 8s Ne to 16s through rotor spinning systems. The spinning of brown cotton/normal cotton blends in a ring spinning system with an appropriate count based on fibre quality. In addition, fabrics with different construction and designs from the manufactured yarns will be developed.

The MoU signing ceremony was graced by the Heads of Division and Technology Innovators were present during this occasion.
