A lecture on “Relevance of Interdisciplinary Research in Textile” by Prof. (Dr.) S. R. Shukla, former professor, Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai was organized on 10th May 2022 during the Institute Research Advisory Committee (RAC) meeting in hybrid mode for all the scientists and technical staff in the institute. Around 70 staff members and RAC members of the institute attended this lecture. During the lecture Dr. S. R. Shukla spoke on various processes involved in Textile manufacturing and complications such as conservation of utilities, pollution etc. in this process. He spoke on ways to eradicate these issues through interdisciplinary research in Textile. He elaborated the contribution of other science streams in achieving development of science and eco-friendly textile technologies. After the lecture he answered questions raised by the scientists and urged them for interdisciplinary research for pollution free and sustainable textile processing.
