Date: May 12, 2026

An awareness programme on Soil Health Management and Balanced Fertilizer Use was organized by ICAR-CIRCOT on 12th May 2026 at its MGMG-adopted village Budhla, Kalmeshwar (Nagpur). The programme focused on strengthening farmers’ awareness of soil health as a key factor for sustainable crop production. It highlighted the importance of soil testing and recommended fertilizer application based on test results to improve nutrient use efficiency and lower input costs. Farmers were also made aware of the harmful effects of excessive chemical fertilizer use, including soil degradation, nutrient imbalance and environmental pollution, and were encouraged to follow balanced and integrated nutrient management practices. A demonstration training programme on Dashparni Ark preparation was also conducted. A total of 35 farmers including 3 females participated in the programme.
