Farmers awareness programme conducted by ICAR-CIRCOT on June 04, 2026, under the Mission LiFE and under the World Environment Day (WED) Pre-Campaign

ICAR-CIRCOT conducted a farmer awareness interactive workshop programme as part of World Environment Day (WED) 2026 pre-campaign under Mission LiFE in the Pali -Sudhagad taluka, Raigad Dist, Maharashtra on June 4, 2026. The programme also covered the Balanced use of fertilizers & Soil Health Mission Awareness & Khet Bachao Abhiyaan 2026. The discussion & Q & A session of the participating farmers were very focused on the natural farming under the ‘Swasth Mithi’, ‘Samrudh Kisan and Bharat’, nationwide initiative launched by ICAR. About 45 stakeholders in which about 35 were farmers from about eleven different villages of Pali, Parali, Panvel, Pen, Adulase, Bharje, Kawlewadi, Vakangaon, Aapatane, Naagav, Rasalwadi. It also included about 8 women farmers participation. Others were state government officials, taluka development officers, organic produce aggregators and marketing experts. The programme also had detailed discussion, interaction and spreading awareness on the various aspects of natural organic farming. The farmers sought insights & solutions to their issues related to use of bio fertilizers & soil quality conservation methods which were provided by ICAR-CIRCOT, Mumbai. The aggregators & marketing experts were asked for workable solutions about how to market their organically grown produce in markets, for enhanced renumeration & were given solutions. The programme was organized in collaboration with "Satyam Sumiran Yoga Research Foundation", led by Dr. Swami Yogapratap. The most important benefit of this programme was that a group of the farmers present was formed by the Swamiji which will serve as a platform to guide the farmers about natural farming & use of bio-fertilizers and also value-addition to their produce (support will be provided by ICAR-CIRCOT) and to have better markets (support will be provided by the natural produce aggregator and marketing professional). The programme was supported by Menons Environment Exclusive LLP, based at Thane. The event concluded with the distribution of saplings of Tulsi, Vaala (Vetiver), Jaswand (Hibiscus) etc. to the farmers and all others present, which was appreciated by all.
