ICAR-Central Institute of Research on Cotton Technology, Mumbai, organized a 3-day training on ‘Smart Textiles and 3D Printing’ from 06-08th January 2025. This was a specialized training program for scheduled caste community under the SCSP scheme of ICAR to upgrade their skill and expertise in the domain of Smart textiles. The training program focused on the introduction of smart textiles, testing of basic electronic components, high-performance fibers, core spinning, DREF spinning, cone winding, composite development using conductive materials, Arduino sensors, phase change materials, smart textile product development, 3D printing for prototype modeling, smart textiles in agriculture, and entrepreneurship developmental activities at ICAR-CIRCOT. A total of 16 participants including 7 male and 9 female candidates from DKTE Society's Textile and Engineering Institute, Kolhapur (MH), India attended the training programme.
