Microbiology& Biochemistry Lab
The Microbiology and Biochemistry lab is unique and mostly deals with the research on byproduct utilization of cotton like cotton seed, meal, etc. The lab is equipped with basic microbiological equipment like laminar chamber, freezer, auto clave, fume hood, centrifuge.
Nanotechnology Lab
This division has State-of-the-Art Nanotechnology facility to carry out research in the field of synthesis, characterization and application of nanomaterials in textiles and composites. In addition, a full-fledged setup is established for electrospinning of biopolymers for production of nanofibres.
Pulp & Paper Testing Lab
Complete lab scale facilities for making pulp and paper from cotton linters/ cotton stalks and other agro residues exist in the division. Similarly facilities for making particle board from cotton stalks and other agro-residues are also available.
Nanocellulose Pilot Plant
Based on the technology developed for energy-efficient production of nanocellulose from cotton linters, a nanocellulose pilot plant is established with a production capacity of 10 kg per day. This pilot plant caters to the need of various entrepreneurs and industrialists for scaling up trails and technology validation in addition to routine use in research and development.
Plasma Lab
The lab is equipped with plasma generation and characterization equipments such as atmospheric plasma chamber, GC-MS and Optical Emission Spectrometer (OES).
